Both formulas contain a powerful blend of innovative skincare ingredients, antioxidants, and vitamins that correct and protect skin for a hydrated feelings and flawless-looking complexion, every time." - Elizabeth Arden New York

Lets dive into my thoughts on these new launches from the Flawless Finish collection by Elizabeth Arden!

Now first of all let me just give a round of applause to the person who is re-designing the packaging for Arden. Let's all be honest...when you think about make-up companies, generally Arden is the one that is thought of as being for the "older" generation. They are re-vamping and really targeting at all age groups now, and the luxe new packaging and new formulations of products is really helping things get off to a great start.

Moving on to the actual product. I am as fair as they come. I am talking...less than your average NW15 kind of thing. The 02 Alabaster is fantastic. It is quickly becoming my most reached for foundation, and when you have a drawer full like I do, that is saying a lot. It has almost a whipped texture that quickly melts into the skin leaving a satin finish with light-medium coverage (my freckles still show, which I love).

Now as for my favourite ingredients that goes above and beyond, "Soy Lipid Technology". This ingredient is proven to reduce the look of pores and perfect your skin's texture. I mean, that sounds pretty great. I think all of us want to reduce the look of pores.

All in all, this foundation is pretty awesome. All my fair skinned sista's (and brothers..I don't discriminate), you need to check out this foundation. All you regular-dark skinned friends, you can come too ;), because this comes in 10 amazing shades!

Flawless Finish Correcting and Highlighting Perfector Pens

Shade 1

Remind you of something? The YSL Touché Éclat by chance? Yes this very pretty package looks very similar to the cult luxury classic. I've never personally used the Touché Éclat so I can't really speak to if this is a "dupe" or not. However the principle is much the same.

You click the bottom to release the product onto the wand/brush application. I find the formulation between Shade 1 and 2 to be completely different. I am not sure if this is just the case with the one that I received or if that is normal. Shade 1 has a much runnier consistency and a very obvious pink undertone. I find that this shade in particular doesn't work well for correcting, it is your illuminating pen. It has some basic concealing benefits to it, but it wouldn't be someones go to concealer if they have major markings to cover-up.

I'm on the fence with this shade. I don't know if I could find enough uses to justify the price tag. It is a good product, don't get me wrong. I guess I am not that big on highlighting, even though I have dry skin I love the matte look.

Shade 2 on the other hand is a different story...

So shade 2 is a yellow undertone, and a bit darker than shade 1. It has a less runny consistancy and it is better for correcting purposes. Personally I really like shade 2, it is light enough (texture wise) to use around the eyes so as not to cause creasing, but it is pigmented enough to make a dramatic difference. If you look at the photo of my under eye you can see the major difference with the redness, and darkness.

I thought that I was going to fall for shade 1 but shade 2 has kind of been my BFF. Of course, swatch the products for yourselves in store because if you love highlighters you may prefer the shade 1.

Stand out ingredient: Wu Zhu Yu Plant: this apparently helps to enhance brightness, radiance and luminosity of the skin. Always a nice quality to have.

PS. they do carry a third shade for a medium/darker skin tone.
